Great commentary on our society's shift to quick-fix drugs as the solution to themes of human struggle.

Our answer to the pains of immorality!!

Illustrator Tutorial, NDesign Studio

http://www.ndesign-studio.com/resources/tutorials/chinese-bamboo/

This is a really cool site because it shows specific examples of vector art and how to create the samples included in the site by following the instructions. Your technique can expand quickly because it's another iteration, more practice at creating basic shapes and effects using Illustrator's drawing tools. This was a lot of fun.

Illustrator Tutorial, Blee Designs

This is an effective tutorial because it deals specifically with Line Art via Illustrator, and helps train your eye to look at how you can create complex images by breaking it down to the content of line.

This is a cool tutorial because it's short and to the point, and it has a lot of illustrations and how-tos.

Saturday Night, June 2

Quiet night tonight since returning from the airport.

I just completed the third assignment, using the 3 Photoshop files and playing with compression settings. The repitition was helpful, and I enjoyed this assignment overall. I was having a hard time manipulating the images the way that I envisioned in my head, while mustering through Photoshop with an inexperienced hand. Cropping gave me the most difficulty, as well as merging multiple images but the class demo Wednesday night helped a LOT!

On a general note....this class is cool as hell despite the fact that it is extremely long and the computer lab is ridiculously cold. I'm bringing two extra layers next week!

What a fabulous rain we had last night...it's been so long. We needed a good soak and some gray skies always seem to bring things home a bit- quieter, more personal- at times a little heavy...but always, makes me remember to be grateful for the clear blue bright skies we always get as a backdrop to our lives here.
